Seven Uplifting Prayers for Women

A Prayer for God’s Presence

Philippians 4:13 says “I can do all this through Him who gives me strength.” Relying on God's strength is essential, and in His presence we can find unending strength. We also know from Exodus 33:14 that God says, “My Presence will go with you, and I will give you rest.” As we become more aware of God, we can always ask for His presence to be with us. This prayer is about inviting His Holy Spirit to fill us with His power, giving us strength and providing comfort no matter what the day throws at us.

Dear God, would you fill me with Your presence. I thirst for You. I long for something greater than the world can offer. The deepest desires of my heart and my deepest longings are found in You and in You alone. Whatever the day may throw at me, I know that I can face it by the power of Your Holy Spirit. Let Your peace comfort me and Your presence be a balm to my soul. I want to know You more, Lord. I want to feel Your presence more strongly. Holy Spirit, come and have Your way in me today. In Jesus’ name, amen.

A Prayer for Us To Fulfil Our Calling

No matter what comes our way, we always need to look to God for direction in our lives. The world is constantly telling us we should be this or that, pulling us in different directions, but that isn’t necessarily God’s best for us. Use this prayer to ask God what He has for you and what His will is.

Dear Lord, I want to know what You have for my life. In the uncertainty of the future, would You shine a light on what it is You want me to do. I long to glorify You in all that I do and want to live with a Kingdom mentality. Thank You for the gifts You have given me. Whatever it is you want me to do Lord, guide me on the right path and open the right doors so that I can take hold of my calling. In Jesus’ name, amen.

A Prayer for Encouragement for Women in Leadership

The influence and leadership of godly women is so needed in our world. Maybe the Lord is calling you to some form of leadership, whether that’s in your workplace, in the church, or your wider community. For those already in positions of leadership, here is a prayer for God’s nearness at all times.

Dear Lord, today I ask that You would surround me with people who can help and support me in what I do. Please give me wisdom to lead and make decisions by following You and Your Word. I need Your provision and Your ever-present help in times of need. I ask that You would be close now and in the future, even in the face of challenge, suffering and persecution. In my day to day, would Your name be glorified above all else. In Jesus’ name, amen.
Seven Uplifting Prayers for Women

A Prayer for Other Women

It’s important that we uphold, champion, and support other women. That might be in our church, our workplace, our family, or our social circle. One way we can do this as Christians is by praying for other women.

Almighty God, thank You for the blessings You have given us. Thank You for the freedoms won by many women before us. Lord, we bring before You those who do not have the same freedoms as us. We think of those who still experience suffering and oppression because they are women. Where there are girls who don’t have access to education or opportunities, we ask that You bring about change, Lord. Your kingdom is defined by equality, by the liberation of the poor and the downtrodden. We pray that this would be the experience of all women, at home or abroad, who are not fully free. Would those women in positions of influence and power speak up for the oppressed and be a guiding light for younger women looking to make their mark. Would Christian mothers, wives, and friends rise up as godly examples to follow. Thank You, Jesus, that Your example of inclusivity and fellowship with those on the margins of society is one that we can all follow. Bring peace and prosperity to the lives of women everywhere. In Jesus' name, amen.

A Prayer of Blessing for Married Women

Marriage is a beautiful union that God honors. Through the highs and lows of life, it's important to keep your marriage strong with daily prayer, so that God's strength takes centerstage instead of your own. Remember, wisdom, mercy, and faith are often strengthened through a strong prayer life.

Dear God, thank You for my marriage. Help me to be the best wife I can be. Lord, when it’s tough give me patience, humility, kindness, and grace. When it’s good, help me to be thankful and to enjoy my relationship with my husband. Help me to bless him and support him every day. In Jesus’ name, amen.

A Prayer for Single Women

Whether or not you are single, God has so much more for you, loves you for who you are, and celebrates who He created you to be. Remember that you are so much more than your relationship status as a woman of God. If you are currently single, here is a prayer of encouragement for you.

Lord God, thank You that You are with me in my singleness and that I am not defined by my relationship status. Thank You for the blessing of singleness, the freedom it offers, and the opportunity to get to know You better. Lord, help me to use this time wisely, however long this season lasts. I know that You are all I need, and You have plans to prosper me and not to harm me as it says in Jeremiah 29:11. Help me to flourish in You. Please continue Your process of sanctification in me and show me Your will for my future. In Jesus’ name, amen.

A Prayer for Female Friendship

Regardless of our stage of life, we can all be good friends. Women supporting other women is such a valuable thing and is just one part of our call as Christians to be members of one body, like God's Word reminds us in 1 Corinthians 12. We should model love and support for our sisters in Christ. God only knows the ripple effect this has in the church and surrounding culture.

Thank You, God, for the gift of friendship. Where I lack godly friends, I ask that You would provide. I pray that I would be surrounded by supportive women of God who encourage and strengthen me in my own life. I pray that I can be that to others too. Help me to notice when my friends are suffering or in need. Help me be more selfless and focused on others. I pray that I can have a heart like Christ and be there for my friends when they need me. Thank You, Lord, that You are the best friend we could ever ask for and that You are always there for us. Amen.

Strengthen Your Prayer Life

Through every season of life, God's love and presence will meet you right where you are. As you talk to God, remember that a simple prayer is all it takes to connect with God and to be reminded of how present He is in our conversations with Him. After all, we follow a faithful God whose goodness will never end.
