What choices will you make in 2024? Whether you are aware of it or not, the choices you make every day will shape this new year. This year, this day and every moment in it can be transformed by joy, peace, and love. How? By choosing, now and tomorrow, to draw close to God.
It almost sounds too good to be true, doesnât it? That simple choice could wash your year ahead with joy. The invitation extended to the first Christians nearly 2000 years ago is still valid for us today. To recognize your relationship with an eternal God and to live a life with an unendingly kind Father.
It can be so easy to forget the good news.
Whether itâs challenges at work, at home, or with your health, life is full of things that can weigh heavily on us.

No matter how long youâve been a Christian, there is always more to learn about God. There is more of His goodness to receive and more of the fruit of the spirit to experience. But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, forbearance, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control. Against such things there is no law. Those who belong to Christ Jesus have crucified the flesh with its passions and desires. Since we live by the Spirit, let us keep in step with the Spirit. Galatians 5: 22-25
Just before this famous bit of scripture, which outlines the fruits of the Spirit, Paul describes the fruit of a life submitted to the flesh. He lists anger, selfish ambition, rage, envy, and many other things. Then, his important reminder arrives: he tells us that those of us who belong to Christ have put an end to the effects of the flesh on our lives.
Instead, we have welcomed in the fruit of the Spirit. That means we get to fill our lives with love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, and faithfulness. What an incredible promise to hold onto as we begin 2024!
Paul adds a piece of timeless advice to his letter to the Galatians: "Since we live by the Spirit, let us keep in step with the Spirit.â
Itâs this âkeeping in step with the Spiritâ that we exist to encourage here at Glorify and that we know can make all the difference to your mental, physical, and emotional wellbeing.
In fact, we believe that choosing Godâs perspective every day this year is the most powerful thing you can do for your wellbeing. Keeping in step with the Spirit is a daily pursuit, an invitation to experience the goodness of God via His sustaining Holy Spirit. Green juices and regular exercise are all well and good, but itâs the presence of the creator of our universe in our everyday lives that leads to real, lasting change.
We canât escape the hardships we have to endure sometimes, and God does not expect us to either. Sometimes the greatest comfort we can have is that He is with us as we go through the challenges and difficulties of life. So we may not always be able to change our circumstances, but we can choose our perspective.
Think about it like this:. Imagine you have a selection of picture frames in front of you. Each has a different size and ratio. Small or large, big picture or smaller to illuminate detail, you get to choose how you frame your life. You can choose the perspective we view them from. Do you need to choose a new frame for 2024?
We can decide to follow the Spirit and enjoy the real blessing of a life filled with happiness, peace, and love. For us at Glorify, this is the greatest perspective you can have. Today, choose the frame of the Holy Spirit!
