Youâve probably come across a load of God is with you scriptures before, or been told that he's with us of all the time. But where in the Bible does that teaching actually come from?
And how come we can feel so disconnected from God, and so alone, if Heâs always with us?
We take a dive into some âGod is with youâ scriptures and discover what it means to live a life connected to God. And, how to let His constant presence transform our hearts.
There are so many Bible verses that talk about the concept of God being with us. These God is with you scriptures are important tools to help keep us focused on the truth. Here are a few to get started:
1. Isaiah 41:10 - "Fear not, for I am with you; be not dismayed, for I am your God; I will strengthen you, I will help you, I will uphold you with my righteous right hand."
This verse is a great reminder that even when we feel afraid or overwhelmed, God is with us, and He will give us the strength we need to get through whatever challenges we may be facing.
2. Deuteronomy 31:6 - "Be strong and courageous. Do not fear or be in dread of them, for it is the Lord your God who goes with you. He will not leave you or forsake you.â
This verse is a beautiful promise that God will never leave us or abandon us, no matter what. We can be strong and courageous, knowing that we are never alone.
3. Joshua 1:9 - "Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged, for the Lord your God will be with you wherever you go.â
This verse is another call to stand firm, in strength and courage, knowing that God is with us. God and His constant presence are the source of our strength.
No matter what weâre facing in life, we face it with God by our side. There is no place too dark, no pain too great for Him to be our comforter and companion. The enemy does a really great job of convincing us that weâve messed up so badly that God doesnât want anything to do with us anymore. Or, that God canât possibly love us, if He did, wouldnât life be better? Wouldnât He have fixed all of the horrible problems in the world?
Until Jesus comes again we can expect to encounter some seriously difficult things in life. The world we live in is still full of the effect of sin and brokenness.
As Christians we are called and equipped to live just like Jesus did. Jesus had, at times, a painful and difficult life yet He never questioned His call and He stayed constantly connected to God.
Just like Jesus we will all face pain and difficulty. But, just like Him we can walk through days of lives connected to God. He will bring comfort, new perspective and joy in even the hardest of seasons.
Donât fall for the enemyâs lie that God has abandoned you, or that you donât deserve His love. Silence those unhelpful thoughts and instead flood your thought life with the truth: that God loves you, He is for you and He is with you.
One of the most important things to do when youâre feeling alone and questioning Godâs love for you is to head straight to the Bible and meditate on the truth.
Take time, every day, to read through some God is with you scriptures and let them bring you comfort. The more we meditate on the word, the easier it is to silence the unhelpful doubts and lies in our head.
Here are two comforting God is with you verses to add to your quiet time. If youâre feeling overwhelmed, or facing a really tough time, let them bring peace to your soul.
1. "Even though I walk through the darkest valley, I will fear no evil, for you are with me; your rod and your staff, they comfort me." - Psalm 23:4
This verse reminds us that even when things seem really dark and scary, God is there to guide and protect us. We don't need to be afraid because we know that He's with us.
2. "The Lord himself goes before you and will be with you; he will never leave you nor forsake you. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged." - Deuteronomy 31:8
This verse is a great reminder that God is always one step ahead of us, and He's there to lead us and guide us through whatever we're going through. We don't need to be discouraged because we know that He is with us.
One of the most obvious ways is through the life of Jesus. In the Gospels, we see how God came to earth in human form to live among us, to teach us, and to ultimately sacrifice Himself for our sins. Through Jesus, we see that God is not some distant, unapproachable deity, but a loving Father who is intimately involved in our lives.
Another way that the New Testament shows us how God is with us is through the Holy Spirit. After Jesus ascended into heaven, He sent the Holy Spirit to be our helper and guide. The Spirit is like a constant companion, comforting us in times of trouble and giving us wisdom and strength to navigate life's challenges.
Throughout the New Testament, we also see how God is with us in the community of believers. The church is called the body of Christ, and as members of that body, we are bound together by the Spirit. We are called to love and serve one another, to bear each other's burdens, and to share in each other's joys and sorrows.
So, whether it's through Jesus, the Holy Spirit, or the community of believers, the New Testament is full of examples of how God is with us. It's a reminder that we are never alone, that God is always with us, and that He loves us more than we can ever imagine.
The more we learn to recognise Godâs constant presence with us, the more we can yield to His ongoing transformation of us.
God is constantly working on us. His heart is to undo all of the damage that living through the pain of this world has caused. Day by day He calls us into freedom and into recognising who He made us to be.
While letting the comforting God is with us verses help you through a tough season is brilliant, thereâs another truth worth recognising. God isnât just with us to keep us company, or make the tough times easier. God, and His transforming power, is with us. As we listen to Him, respond and build relationship with Him He heals and remakes us.
The more we recognise and lean into His presence with us, the more He transforms, bringing us into wholeness with Him.
