What choices will you make in 2022? Whether consciously or not, this new year will be shaped by the decisions you make every day. But, the start of this year doesn’t have to mean punishing yourself for past indulgences or making grand goals you push to stick to. This year can be about embracing, more than you ever have before, the fruitful pursuit of God in your everyday.
This year, this day and every moment in it can be transformed by joy, by peace and by love. How? By choosing, now and tomorrow, to draw close to God.
Too Good To Be True?
It almost sounds too good to be true, doesn’t it? That a simple choice could wash your year ahead with joy? That’s why we still call the gospel truth the good news, though. The invitation laid before the first Christians, nearly 2000 years ago, remains the same for us today: to accept that you are loved by an eternal God, to know that He chose you to partner with and to experience a life filled with the kindness and provision of an endlessly kind Father.
It can be so easy to forget the good news and instead focus on the stresses and strains of everyday life. Whether it’s challenges at work, at home or with your health, life is full of things that can weigh heavily on us.
That’s why we’re starting 2022 with our ‘Choose the Day’ campaign. Because we know that no matter how hard life gets, if you choose to embrace God’s perspective every day you will find yourself transformed for the better.
Choose the day
No matter how long you’ve been a Christian, there is always more to learn about God, more of His goodness to receive and more of the fruit of the spirit to experience. Glorify is designed to help every Christian, every day, experience the joy and intimacy of connecting with God. Whether that’s through one of our blogs, playlists or daily devotionals you can choose to connect with God everyday in 2022 and start to experience the abundant fruit of a thriving relationship with Him.
But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, forbearance, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control. Against such things there is no law. Those who belong to Christ Jesus have crucified the flesh with its passions and desires. Since we live by the Spirit, let us keep in step with the Spirit. Galatians 5: 22-25
Just before this famous bit of scripture, which outlines the fruits of the Spirit, Paul describes the fruit of a life submitted to the flesh. He lists anger, selfish ambition, rage, envy and many other things. Then, his important reminder arrives, he tells us that those of us who belong to Christ have put an end to the effects of the flesh on our lives. Instead, we have welcomed in the fruit of the Spirit. That means we get to fill our lives with love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness and faithfulness. What an incredible promise to hold onto as we begin 2022.
Keep In Step With The Spirit
Paul adds in a piece of timeless advice to his letter to the Galatians: “Since we live by the Spirit, let us keep in step with the Spirit.”
It’s this ‘keeping in step with the Spirit’ that we exist to encourage here at Glorify and that we know can make all the difference to your mental, physical and emotional wellbeing.
In fact, we believe that choosing God’s perspective every day this year is the most powerful thing your can do for your wellbeing. Green juices and regular exercise are all well and good, but it’s the presence of the creator of our universe in our everyday lives that leads to real, lasting, change.
We can’t escape the hardships we have to endure sometimes but we can choose which perspective we view them from. We can choose to keep in step with the Spirit and experience the tangible blessing of a life marked by joy, peace and love.
Start this new year with the confidence that you can choose the day you deserve.
